Delay in transmission...

Edited:  BlogTouch Pro emailed me with the solution so all my posts are up on our Ruby and Pearl blog if you'd like to see beautiful Kangaroo Island...

Boy, this is frustrating...BlogTouch Pro says I’ve exceeded my photo limit so I can’t post pics until I resolve that. Waiting on an email to give me steps to take...

Ruby and Pearl on KI...

Head on over to
to see our trip to Kangaroo Island...

Easter ... Pt 3

Easter Sunday...

...I got up early to catch this magnificent sunrise...
~
I mixed up dough to make hot cross buns...
~
Bri, enjoying her Easter chocolates...
~
Kirby snapped Gus!
~

The buns rose quite well.  It think they would have been better if I had kneaded them with a stand mixer...
~

They turned out well...
~
~
We had lunch at the Marion Bay Tavern where we were joined by Nate’s parents.  Delicious Oysters Kilpatrick on the left and Mexican on the right...shared with Gus.
~
Super moist and fresh King George whiting...
~

When we got back, we made our way down the cliff by way of a very narrow, steep path - which after getting back up later in the day - I would never attempt it again...it could so easily go wrong and turn deadly!
~

~
Anyway, we fished for a couple of hours - caught this leather jacket! So excited!
~
Michael caught this yellow fin whiting...
~

...and Gus got a double header - two rock cod at once!
~

For our last hurrah, Michael and Bri made a seafood paella.  It was so tasty and that squid is one he caught earlier that day!
~
~
~

Just the right amount of heat and it had that nice crust on the bottom too! Yummo!
~

A final Monday sunrise - time to pack up and head back to Adelaide.
~
Oh, the traffic was horrendouse! It took us an hour to move 10 kms, this side of Port Wakefield...
~

Bumper to bumper...
We finally got back in after 4pm - now we have repack and hook on Pearl, ready for out little trip to Kangaroo Island tomorrow!  Stay tuned!

Easter Pt 2

Easter Saturday...

We are very lucky with the weather with warm breezy days...
~
I found a recipe for spiced fruit damper so I gave that a whirl...
~

~
It turned out beautifully...glazed with apricot jam...
~
~

~

~

After exploring the coast it was time to make some flatbreads to go with the lamb yiros Gus and Brianna were preparing for lunch.
~

I used this recipe - you can go to the site and look up Greek flatbread...
~

They turned out really well - I kept them covered and warm with a tea towel and they were lovely and pliable...
~
It was beautiful sitting out in the sunshine...enjoying a wine with these wonderful kids!
~

~

~
After lunch, Bri and Michael took me squidding off the Marion Bay jetty.  Lots of fun but nothing to take home!
~
Michael showed Bri how to play chess...
~
The sun set on another great day...

An unsuccessful attempt at getting a pic of the blue moon...
~

All afternoon, Nate slow cooked a piece of pork belly...with perfect crackling...
~
Kirby roasted veggies to perfection...and made parsnip puree too...
~
~

Just a small serve for me...
~
That’s lights out for Saturday...

(Backup) Brilliant Easter weekend...

We travelled to Yorke Peninsula to our accomodation at Yondah Beach House on Thursday...leaving later than planned...what’s new?
Yondah sits above the cliffs...
~
~
The next morning - Good Friday... so calm and peaceful...
~

Wall art...
~

~
Kirby likes to accessorise...
~
These are the breakfast bagels she made...filled with cream cheese, soft scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon and chives...
~
...decadently topped with a bit of smoked salmon caviar...
~
After that epic breakfast we went to the cliff top to see if we can get down onto the beach...
~

~
Nate does a Y for Yondah!
~
~

The steps leading down to this beach were just too dangerous to attempt...
~

Back at the house, I busied myself making this fun Easter chocolate bark...
~
~
It was delicious!
~
Next up, prep for dinner...cook the blue swimmer crabs...
~
That is a lot od crab!
~

Nate cooked smoked ribs for lunch...Kirby did baked potato chunks, a rainbow slaw and Thai curry rice...
~
~
Bri and Michael decided to try their hand at fishing from the rocks.  The track down is quite treacherous!
~
Back to dinner prep...I picked all the crab meat...
~

Angus made the pasta dough then we started to fill and make ravioli...
~

This is the second time we’ve used this ravioli tray and it was much easier this time around.  I wrote down what worked last time...
~
I made a naughty cream, chilli cheese sauce and it was delicious! A triumph!
~

I also made focaccia bread to serve with it.  Time for bed that was a big day!
