 Sixteen yearold, Jessica Watson sailed out from Sydney harbour on Sunday 18th October, 2009 at 9.49  to sail around the world in a 22,000 nautical mile journey that should take about 8 months.

Her journey will take her toward northern New Zealand then to Fiji, Samoa, South America then South Africa.  The final leg will be a 4,000 n/mile trip across the Indian Ocean  back to Australia.
