Succulents going gang busters!

The succulents that Annabel posted to me all seem to be doing okay.  No losses so far!

~

I purchased the two bigger succs in this pot and potted them up with babies that should grow on...

~

This pot was given to me last July by my sister, Sue. It’s doing well with lots of bits and pieces in there.  It’s like the nursery...

~

This one was from my sister Leanne.  I lost one the other day so planted that little one down the front...

~

My 2016 Christmas “succulents in a sow” are still going strong...

~

My chamber pot is going nuts!

~

Here’s how it started out...

~

The one up the back in the Coke glass is also from Christmas 2018, from my sister Marilyn...

The whole collection...

...and on my front porch.

That probably bored you to tears but I just love them, especially in my blue and white pots.

Lazy weekend ...

Tha band of wet weather came through giving us some lovely rain but the storm was nowhere near as severe as they first thought. We missed a lot of it as it headed east before it got down our way.

I had a weekend all to myself and apart from going to Mt G on Saturday morning, I holed up and didn't move for the rest of the weekend. I did a few chores but mostly mooched around in my trackies and answered to no one! Heaven!

My Poldark DVDs arrived on Friday so I got through the 8 episodes in S1 over the weekend. Oh, Mr Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) is scrummy to watch!

Hubba hubba!

I went on a shopping jaunt on Saturday morning. I found this Gilmore Girls boxed set (7 seasons) in Sanity and it was $99 with 30% off so $70 - Bargain! We bought the series as it came out on TV years ago and Kirby is a GG officianado - she can quote from any episode! GG went to Adelaide when the girls moved up there so now I have a set for home. I watched 2 eps last night.

I made Chicken Penne Pasta on Friday night for Gus and I...

There were leftovers and Gus was heading away for the weekend so it kept me fed for two more meals...

I also made Chow Mein on Saturday. I love this stuff and only make it when I'm home alone as no one else likes it. Who doesn't love cabbage??

I made these scrummy cookies yesterday. Very easy and these can be shaped then frozen then baked when needed. Great if you are expecting visitors - homebaking without the mess!

My sister visited Sunday afternoon so we caught up and had a few wines...

I've been eating lots of yummy fruit salad too! Apple, orange, black plum, mango, banana and kiwi fruit...

I also bought the DVD of Brides of Christ, which is classic Australian TV drama. There are 6 parts and I got two watched.

Back to the grind today with the weather hotting up midweek.

Saturday at home...

We've had some beautiful sunrises and very chilly mornings of late (this was the only sunrise I captured!)...

~

Last Friday, I saw these beauties in a local gift shop and decided they would be mine!   Love!

~

Saturday was a home day, I tidied, showered then sat knitting and drinking cups of tea...

~

I fed up my Sally Sourdough starter...

~

I also cleaned Sally's jar...

~

I had a few dead bananas in the fruit bowl...

~

These are best for making banana bread!

~

I love this melt and mix recipe from Hannah at Honey & Jam...she's been absent from her blog after the loss of her mum ... ;(

My friend arrived back after 5 weeks away in Europe so this loaf found it's way to her back doorstep, waiting for her to get home in the afternoon...something nice to have with a cuppa.

Nice long weekend...

After my bread making on Sunday, I decided to take it easy.

~

I had three pots of tea over the afternoon...

~

i read a little of Rhonda's book...

~

I found this recipe for Hot Cross Buffins.  I'll be making these on Easter weekend!

~

I got to thinking about how much blue and white I have in my home...so I set to and took pictures of some of it.  And it is only some of it!

This event is on in a few weeks time so I texted a few of my friends and organised a girls day out.  It should be fun!

(Recipe book pic)

Forgot to say that Gus made this chicken dish on Saturday night - very yummy!

~

~

This is my walk-in linen cupboard - stuffed full at the moment.

~

My stock piles - hubby's deodorant purchased for $2 instead of $3.90, shaving cream $2.90, shampoo/conditioners $2.72, Colgate twin toothbrushes $2.07, Pears hand wash $1.74 - all  half price!

I only buy the brands we normally use, when they are out at half price.   It's a waste buying brands you don't  like just because they're cheap.  I can go weeks without buying laundry detergent, dishwasher tabs and toiletries.  When things come out at half price, I just need to buy a few to keep the stockpile topped up.

~

I found nally got to my study and gave it a clean!  Oh, so much dust as the desk had been covered in all sorts of crap!  So bad that I hadnt been using the computer at all!

~

This corner still needs attention.  Those manilla folders need to go in the Tax stacker and previous year expired files need to be burned to make room.  I need to wait until our fire season ends at the end of this month then we can have a paddock fire and burn them.

~

I still have a mountain of cook books sitting in piles (here and in the kitchen).  I really need a book case!

~

So there we are, a bit of tidying which has made me feel a bit better. I hate clutter!

~

What did you get up to this weekend?

Cheers - Joolz xx
