A walk around...

It's just 7.15am now and I've been for a walk outside. We planted tubs of petunias for Christmas, but they've only just now started to thicken up. Pots of colour everywhere. We're in for a scorcher here today which I'm not looking forward to. We will head to the beach at Southend when we finish work and have a barby tea down there with the kids.

I took the pictures with my new iPad Pro which I got for Christmas (thanks, Gus!)...

It has a 12-megapixel camera and I can already see how much clearer the pictures are, compared to my iPhone 6. It should be great for my food pics.

So far, Blogo has been very cooperative although there is still a lot I need to learn, all the ins and outs of it. I'm only using the free app but for $6.99/month, more features can be unlocked. We'll see.

Well, I'd better get a wriggle on! Must do my meditation then zip into town to get stuff for a few salads tonight.

Photos on my phone...

We've had a busy weekend, these are a few pics from last week before I launch into the weekend...

I enjoy curried eggs on toast. Just hard boil two eggs, mask with a fork then add your favourite mayo, curry powder and salt and pepps...

Stir to combine...

...then smash it onto your toast.

I've been gaving a few Cup a Soups at work when I feel hungry...

Can you tell I am very protective of my stationery supplies? I label everything so no one steals them!

Bri made me a little owl (she has a long list of orders) - I have called her Olivia.

I dropped off a banana bread to my niece who little boy Jaga, has been a bit sick. Nothing worse than being homebound with a sick baby in cold weather...

My girlies arrived home Friday. While I was making a curry, they sat colouing in...

I love making this little pickle salad to go with the curry...

I cheated and bought the naan and roti bread from our local Indian restaurant.

I'll be back with more from the weekend - we celebrated Gus' birthday...

Minestrone soup...

We went back to Autumn yesterday. A beautiful clear sky, sunny day with barely any chill in the air. Still, I was wondering what I could knock up for dinner to warm us...

I diced a medium carrot, an onion, stick of celery, a small potato (all chunky)and a rasher of bacon then sauteed that all off in 1 tblspn olive oil. Then I added 4-5 cups water, 3 teaspoons chicken stock powder, a can of tomatoes and about 3/4 cup of this Italian soup mix. Season with salt and pepper towards then end. Gently simmer for two hours until the soup mix is tender. With half an hour to go, toss in a handful of macaroni or spiral pasta...
I made rat bait and also bread rolls so it was a yummy Friday night meal...
What's on the menu on Friday nights at your place?
