On Sunday, I caught up with some old school friends for lunch. We had a great time and hope to do it again soon.

When I got home later in the afternoon, Gus and I made fettuccini and spaghetti pasta while Kirby made a bolognese sauce.

The sauce had dark chocolate in it - Gus and Kirby liked it, me not so much...

The pasta was a triumph, cooked to perfection! We had leftover pasta and spaghetti so I put it in zip lock bags and froze it. We'll eat it in the next week or two.

I am back juicing each morning. I'm trying to get more veggies in than fruit so the sugar content will be less. Normally I'd do 2 apples and oranges but I've cut it back to one. I will get some fresh beetroot today too. This makes 2 large glasses.

Not much else happening here, just work! Glurg!

One of my fave juices is beetroot carrot and apple
ReplyDeletePasta! You are just too clever for words Joolz. I have tried pasta several times but it has ended out a little to 'tough' in texture for my liking. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I might need a better quality flour.
ReplyDeleteThe 00 flour is the key but I have made it with normal flour too. Gus made this batch while I was out so can't tell you how he went with it. I usually mix the dough in my food processor until it reaches the ball stage, then give a quick hand knead then refrigerate for 30 minutes. A pasta machine is not necessary but certainly does make it easy and it works the pasta as you go through the thicknesses. I'm looking forward to making lasagne sheets soon. - J xx
