Long Weekend catch up...

We decided to get out of the city for the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend so we headed to Clare...
~
~
Winding country roads ... we didn't get there until late afternoon...
~~
~
On the Sunday, we chose the Artisan's Table for our lunch destination...
~
Albondigas (pork balls in a rich tomato sauce)
~
Vegetarian arancini balls (Moroccan spiced risotto with sesame & cornmeal)
~
My Chicken Murgh Moelle Curry...
~
Brianna's Lamb rump rubbed with sharwana paste, served with eggplant compote and garlic & chilli potato...
For some reason, I never took a pic of Kirby's chicken...
~
Gus had the battered flathead and chips...
~
Can I tell you how good the curry was?
~
So goood!
~
Coffee & nut tart for me and Gus to share...
~
Berry cheesecake for Brianna...
~
Sunset over the lake back at the Country Club...
~
I didn't need much for dinner that night so I had a 'Cup-o-Soup with toast. Gus cooked a small rack of lamb for he and Kirby. Bri had warmed pita bread and vegemite - lol!
~
Monday morning, it had been so cold that we had thick ice on the windscreen of the car... brrrr!
~
This was the little unit we stayed in - it was brand new!
~
Monday morning, we called in at another couple of wineries before heading back to Adelaide. Rolling hills...
~
Bare vines in winter...
~
Beautiful fertile ground...

Slow cooking...

This lovely book arrived in the mail yesterday - I'll be trying out some new recipes soon. We've had a real cold snap with some rain too so it will be nice to come home to a tasty meal, already to go.
~
I've been a bit slack with my Photoaday challenge - some topics are quite hard to get a picture of plus finding the time...
~
I've been hard at it with this dish cloth... can anyone spot the boo boo? I obviously purled instead of plained a long row of stitches.. oh well, it didn't throw the pattern out too much! I have about 4 more patterns to do then I am done!
~
I thought these products were worth mentioning. I love the EcoStore dishwash liquid - lemony and it washes well. We have been using the hand wash for a while now and (I dilute it to make it go a bit further - don't tell Gus!) and I have just bought the dish tabs ($10 for 30!) and they seem to do a really good job - no streaks or sediment left behind. They also do laundry detergent and stain soaker but I am good in that department at the moment. The jury is still out on the homemade laundry liquid - I think it's okay for underwear and towel loads but I use commercial detergent for other loads.
~
Wet, wild and wooly here today so I had better go get rugged up to go off to work! Stay warm!
~
Cheers - Joolz
