I made those thumb print cookies back on the 9th August, most were given away to family.  Then my sister-in-law was having a morning tea fundraiser where she made up plates and sold them to businesses around the town.  When I read her advert on Facebook, I mis-read it and thought she was having a street stall.  Yes, of course you'd do that when the weather is so cold, wet and miserable - not! 
Anyhoo, I had my goodies all bagged up and looking pretty so I decided to sell them to friends via Facebook - first in gets them!  My other sister-in-law took the majority and I quickly sold the other few bags to people around town.  The biscuits and slice were $4 per bag and the banana breads $8 each.  I made $82 for my SIL's community charity!

Houseboat on the Murray River Pt 1...

Trying for that elusive fish!

Back at the end of July, we boarded a beautiful houseboat for 3 nights cruising the Murray River. Both our girls and their fellas joined us and we had so much fun!  It is such a peaceful and relaxing way to spend the days, no rushing to be here or there.  Just sit back and watch the bird life and beautiful scenery from the deck.  Plenty of time for meal preparation.  We each had to do a lunch and dinner which made it interesting.  We had some yummy food which I'll show in another post.

Cornish Pasties...

Possibly the best Cornish pasty I've ever had!

A few weeks ago, I made Cornish pasties.  On the Friday, I had a hankering for one and went to our local bakery - guess what they hadn't made that day! Grrr!  So, on Saturday, I made my own.

I used a recipe from the SBS series Luke Nguyen's United Kingdom here.  I followed it to the letter and they were so good.  Actually, I used a little bit less lard as 115gms is quite a lot to spread between 3 layers and I added carrots and peas because...vegetables!

Give them a go, they are delicious!

A quilt completed!

I recently completed my Calicozy quilt, pattern by Alicia Paulson - her post about it is here.   I chose my own fabrics and just  purchased the pattern and instructions.  I am thrilled with it! For a first project, it turned out better than I gave myself credit for (*puff out chest!)...

I blogged today, using Blog Pro and it published but I think the pics take a long time to load.  Not quite sure how else to fix it.  My next solution will have to be updating my pc but I still want to be able to blog while on the move.  Anyone else using a good platform for use on an iPhone 6 and iPad?

Land Rover Award

I am attempting blogging on my iPad with Blog Touch Pro - if this fails, my iPad may end up embedded in the wall! 

Waaay back on Friday, May 5th, we flew to Sydney to attend the Land Rover Retailer of the Year awards. 

 

We have a fantastic team of employees who help make this possible.  We are beyond pleased!
