When we go away camping, we menu plan and I try and pack pantry items we'll need instead of buying while we are away. Why buy sweet chiil sauce when you can pack the 1/4 cup you'll need? Vegetable stock, rice, palm sugar, sesame oil, fish sauce, peanuts, all packaged ready to go.

I've made up spice and herb mixes for roast lamb, bbq steak, pork skewers, lamb kebabs and thai green curry. I've already packed pasta and sauce for bow-tie bolognese, we just need to buy meat and fresh veggies.

I'm doing this exact thing for our upcoming vacation. We will be gone for 2 weeks, and staying at state parks in cabins along the way.
ReplyDeleteHope you have fun on your adventures!
You have it down pat that's for sure. You make some lovely meals especially while your travelling.

You sure eat well when you go camping! I take most of the food we need for our annual island holiday, all packed up in the back of our old ute, where we are gone for two weeks or so. I have a list that I use every year that sees us through. Meg:)
ReplyDeleteLove this....we've just purchased a caravan and had our first weekend away....I was looking for lists of what other people pack etc. thanks.
