Drying rosebuds ...

As you know, I have been drying little rosebuds to decorate my homemade soap when I make some...

each morning I go and pick a bowl full...

I've done nothing to them but leave them in my study which get quite warm during the day. They're holding their colours quite well!

This is this mornings pickings!

Cheers - Joolz xx

i have one rose Blue Moon, which is looking a tad sad with the humidity, one day i'll get a couple more bushes.

  2. My Nan used to dry roses in white sand. They would come out looking perfectly formed and exquisite. I could not even tell you the process I'm sorry but reading your post jogged my memory. Apparently the sand extracts all the moisture but also supports the structure of the rose as it is drying so there is minimal shrinking and droop.

    1. Ooh, I like that idea! Makes sense that they would hold their shape. I keep turning mine every day to stop them going flat. Next up - the soap maling!
