...in Adelaide for the Clipsal V8 Supercars race...
~
I headed to Adelaide Friday afternoon, although I did not go to the race. I just hung out with our girls. Kirby and I had a nice Indian meal at the Cinnamon Club on The Parade...

I've been having trouble with my shoulder since we were on holidays and had a horrible nights sleep with it so I googled a physiotherapist. I was lucky to get an appointment on Saturday morning. The young physio worked some magic on my shoulder muscles and also my pectoral muscles (in under armpit). The strain from one was causing pain to radiate to the other. She manipulated the muscles (ouch) and also performed ultrasound treatment. I was with her for a good 40 minutes and she kept saying things were 'icky' in there. I was very impressed with her treatment which cost me $57 after claiming on my private health cover. She warned me that I could be quite sore and tender in coming days and that It could take 4-6 weeks to settle down, but by mid afternoon, all pain and stiffness had disappeared. Too good to be true?
It did return a bit on Sunday but it is much better and I now know how I have been straining it. When I wake for a drink of water during the night (several times) I rise onto my elbow, turn and grab my water bottle which twists my shoulder and puts pressure on my 'pecs'. I just need to me smarter and kinder to myself...

The girls love dumplings and there is a great place called Shanghai Teahouse at Burnside Village. They serve fresh dumplings, yum cha style, so its quite cheap. Lovely fresh food and of course they have a large menu of teas too.

I was very happy to get my hands on Rhonda's new book. It's a lovely publication which will be referred to a lot, I am sure.

With temperatures reaching 38C on Saturday, we girls hunkered down and kept cool in airconditioned comfort. I knitted, Kirby snoozed and Bri played PS games.

Dinner was modern Italian at Osteria Oggi...enjoyed by all.

I made bread on Sunday and once again, we just stayed in as the weather was still horribly hot and humid. Later in the day, the skies opened and dumped about 22ml of rain. They almost had to cancel the remainder of the Clipsal race.

I finished the dishcloth I was working on. It's an easy pattern called Grandma's Favourite which you can find here. This lady gives great tutorials so follow along on Youtube.

In other home news back home, I picked up this table runner at a local homewares shop, Sassi...

...and these two cushions. I'm going with more natural fibres.
