It's been another busy work week. Salmon was on special so we had that Thursday night. I did a quick pea purée (whizzed them with a knob of butter, a little chicken stock, salt and pepps), oven baked potato wedges and a salad. So good. We need to eat more fish but fresh is hard to get!

I asked a work mate for some lemons - I hate buying them from the supermarket at sometimes $1 per lemon! I'll juice most of these and use them in recipes.

Gus was heading to Adelaide to see the girls and deliver two cars so I made some Honey Lemon Chews (Bri was impressed)...

...and Weekender biscuits ...

Home alone, I had Mac Cheese Deluxe for my dinner on Friday night!

New shoes! I've signed up to do Steptember, raising funds to provide equipment, therapy and services to people with Cerebral Palsy.

I have to walk 10,000 steps a day - a half hour walk was 3388 steps so I think I need to walk morning and night to get all my steps done. My knees and feet are not the best and I was feeling the strain when I got home. Slow and steady...

Apart from getting people to sponsor me (any amount is appreciated) I intend to sell some of my biscuits to friends, family and some business colleagues around town...
I made a batch of Anzacs...
~
...and Ginger Snaps...

All bagged up - 12 bags @ $4 = $48

I will make two more batches today then that will do for this week.

I bought chia seeds and added them to my bread rolls - yum!

Dinner last night was Lemon & Lavender Chicken (a Rachel Khoo recipe). Ooh la la!
Delicious! Lavendar is really a smell so it's quite wierd to use it in cooking. It was very subtle but paired with honey and lemon, made the dish great!

This morning, we were out of bread so I made a crusty chia loaf, just using the bread roll recipe.

Cheers - Joolz xx
goodluck with the walking...........i can do 2 smaller walks in the day better then one big one ie more the 30 mins..........it's all the incidental stuff that helps add up........it' not cheating the steps but tricking your brain.....walk the long way around, park further away all adds a few more steps.........all the short bits add up too so goodluck......had a fitbit for 12months and I love it........struggled a bit thru winter but just getting back into it again.......goodluck...........when it is not so cold I love walking on sunrise and sunset........
ReplyDeleteJoolz, I have the same joggers. I try to remember to put my pedometer on each day and walk at least 10,000 steps which is the minimum recommended to be reasonably fit once you get older but I am a lot older than you ;-) I hope you go well with your goals to increase your fitness and raise funds.
