I picked up a few more fabrics for my strip quilt. I still need a lot more so it will be a while before I start putting it together. I'll be putting in some pinks and darker blues too.
I don't really have a sewing streak either but I figure I should be able to sew rectangles of material together if I go slowly. I have a $100 Brother sewing machine so nothing fancy.
I will only be making the quilt top then getting it put together by someone else.
Oh, you make me feel so guilty! I used to do all kinds of craft things back in my housewife days. I pieced a beautiful king size patchwork quilt but never quilted it. Still have it, so "someday"! I used to sew a lot, crochet and knit a lot. . . Those were the days! Remember when macrame was popular? I had all kinds of beautiful houseplant holders throughout the house.
Don;'t feel guilty! This will probably never come to fruition but I just need to try. I work 25-30 hours a week in our business which doesn't leave much time for sitting and sewing and I am tired at night. I used to cross stitch such a lot when my girls were small (how did I find the time??) but can barely sit at it for an hour nowadays.
Joolz, my only venture into the world of patchwork has been making a couple of rag quilts for my granddaughters. They are easy to make and once the sewing is finished they are washed and put into the dryer to make them ' raggy'.
They are gorgeous prints. I wish I had more time for sewing. You make me want to go sew a quilt right now! I have a cross stitch tablecloth on the go right now, I pick it up every now and then, it's being neglected.
Love the fabrics. The top 2 roses are beautiful. I don't have one project I have a draw full of projects waiting to be sewn. This year is the year I will get them all done and finished. I love patchwork and had forgotten I had so many stashes for projects until I went searching for something to do at my weekly class, luckily the pattern I want to use is each stash so I know what I'm doing.
What a lovely combo Jooz. I will watch from the side as your creation emerges as I just don't have that sewing streak at all! Have fun. cheers Wendy
