I decided it was curry time and happened to come across a recipe for flat bread (like pita bread) while surfing Inner Pickle's blog.
The link to the recipe is here: http://www.innerpickle.com.au/2011/04/recipe-for-flat-bread.html
Dough after 1 hour rise...
Weighing out the dough so all are uniform ...
Gently rolling the dough ...
Bake in a 230C oven ...
Watch them puff up ... Some did, some didn't (?) ...
Looking good ...

Good for sopping up curry sauce!
So, on to making the Chicken Curry ...
I finally harvested 2 tomatoes, a black Russian and a cherry tomato.
I made this cucumber and tomato pickle ...
I made a mint and cucumber raita ...

This pic is from back before Christmas as I forgot to take a piccy. Totally yum!
I have also mixed up a sort of sour dough to make a rustic loaf tomorrow morning (not using a starter, though). I will let you know how that goes then.
Cheers - Joolz xx
Looks and sounds delicious.

ReplyDeleteI've used a few recipes from Inner Pickle. :) I'm now craving curry and I've just sat down with my breakfast cuppa! :)
ReplyDeleteThose flat breads look amazing! I am going to have to try every single one of your bread recipes someday. Now that I have left my job, I will have no excuse not to! Of course it will have to wait till I get back from my big escape...I'm going to visit my best friend for a few months while we both focus on getting healthier...getting her through chemo and getting me down a few pounds and building some body strength.
ReplyDeleteI love chicken curry- and that tomato cucumber salad looks luscious! I can't wait until June and July when we can get wonderful homegrown tomatoes! My little 4 year old grandson was staying with me the other day and said "Mimi, do you know what my favorite vegetable is?" "No, what is it?" I asked. "Cucumbers"! Who knew? I guess my son will have to grow another bumper crop for little Jack this summer! V
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so delicious. I really like the sound of the naan bread - incredible that just a few simple ingredients can produce that nice fluffy bread. I might experiment with a little garlic and herbs in it, but I'm going to try it later in the week as we have perfect curry weather.
