Where were we? We went to bed earlier that night and didn't hear the news until 7 o'clock in the morning of the 12th...Like every one else, we stood in shock as we stared at the tv and watched the turmoil unfold.
It's my Dads birthday on the 12th September so I will never forget the phone call to him on that day...
I was in Perth as I had driven down from the country town where I now live for the night. After watching a DVD with a friend we had the usual TV flash up at the end and saw the first plane hit. It was live and at that point the second plane hadn't hit. When it did hit they didn't stop filing and transmitting and the cameraman kept his camera rolling but the audio stopped and you could here him just say "Oh my God" over and over again. He then started running backwards with the camera still going. It was horrible.
Great tribute Joolz...
