My roses have gone berserk in the past week or so with all the hot weather. No chance to enjoy lovely rosebuds for a few days as they open. All the blooms just expoded open.

This carpet rose was a lot more 'hot pink' last year, they seem to be paler this year. I'll have a fair bit of 'dead-heading' to do before Christmas! Eek - it's my turn to host Christmas at our house this year!!

In for a hot day of 36C today! Not as bad as poor Tania in Port Augusta - 46C yesterday and 47C today with catastrophic weather warnings in force. When will this weather stop?

how absolutely gorgeously lush and extravagant!!! Enjoy! Everything is brown and gray here....
ReplyDeleteJoolz, the beautiful sights of summer, thanks I could almost smell the flowers if I closed my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI won't show you pictures of my roses Joolz for obvious reasons, yours are looking lovely though. I only have a couple planted because of the heat, too hard to keep them going.
ReplyDeleteAt last I think it will be cooler here tomorrow, I think 37 or 38C, then 26C on Saturday....it has been the longest two weeks ever.
At least I have got to read all my favourite blogs (and some new ones) and leave comment for just about all of them....amazing!
Oh Yep the heat is horrid!
ReplyDeleteBut your Roses are obviously loving it and growing beautifully!
Holy moly, those temps!
ReplyDeleteYour roses are unbelievably gorgeous!
these are wonderful pics....I think your yard is absolutely beautiful and it looks like walking through a garden! The sunset isn't to shabby either!
ReplyDeleteYour roses are gorgeous! Mine have gone crazy too with the heat, and the Abraham Lincoln especially, smells just heavenly!
ReplyDeleteA much cooler day today - we're only due to hit 27, though the house is still fairly hot from yesterday.
But compared to Tania? Ooooh! I just hope she can find a way to stay cool!
Fingers crossed for a cooler weekend!!
Your amazing garden makes me drool--especially those carpet roses! Beautiful! Do you like your warm Christmas time?
ReplyDeletemine were have some nice roses before this heat..........it has burnt some of the agapanthus heads.......
ReplyDeleteMy rose photos show odd dead bits, so I didn't post them on Sunday. My arch here where I am Renaes had more roses than it has ever had, but now is an arch full of things needing dead heading. I think I lost them all at once.
ReplyDeleteI love the bottle brushes this year.
