You can shed a tear that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone, or you can cherish the memory of her, and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or can do what perhaps she'd want, open your eyes, smile, love....and go on.

Rest in peace, Ange!

So sorry to hear this, Joolz. I will pray for her eternal happiness as well as for her family and sweet friends like you as her goodness can live on in others!

Joolz, that verse is lovely and every word of it true. At 41 I shouldn't think she'd have wanted to see long faces around her though she would maybe have made an exception just for her funeral day.
ReplyDeletelove, Angie, xx
This will stay with me for awhile. Everything you said about your friend, I could say about mine, right down to the age she left this life. I'll be praying for Ange's family and friends.
ReplyDeleteNever easy But so hard when so young and leaving behind what sounds like a gorgeous Family.
ReplyDeleteOnly the good die young seems to be a very true phrase.
Rest In peace and peace to you to Joolz
Sorry for the loos, Joolz, and at such a young age. But I loved the sentiment of this verse! It is good to remember this perspective. C
ReplyDeleteHeartfelt condolences are sent your way. What sweet memories to comfort all of you who grieve her loss. Love the verse!

Joolz......I'm so sorry you lost your friend. What a fitting tribute you wrote to her and the deeply beautiful verse about how we can look at life and loss.
ReplyDeleteI read one that I kept for years that talked about those of us left behind watching that ship sail, yet others are celebrating as they watch the ship loom into view and make its approach. That stuck with me, too.
I'm very glad you had her. But I'm so sorry she leaves behind her precious loved ones.
Thank you for your comforting words to me yesterday. They were very much appreciated.
