Mmmmm, Banana Bread...

BANANA BREAD
3-4 small very ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 tspn vanilla
1 egg, beaten
*
Combine all of the above then add this mix to 1 1/2 cups SR flour. Mix well using wooden spoon then pour into a lined square cake tin. Bake for 45 mins at 180C. My first attempt came out perfectly - it rose evenly and was cooked through at 45 mins.

I made the banana bread with 4 very brown bananas that were about the expire. I got the recipe from 18 year old Hannah over at http://honeyandjam.blogspot.com/. She has some great recipes and this bread was really simple....and I made it even yummier with.....nearly a cup of dark choc chips! ;)

I got wet going for my walk this morning but couldn't care less - bring on that precipitation!
Last night, there was a huge rainbow as I looked out my front window. You can see which part of our front lawn is watered with a sprinkler system and which is not, can't you. This bit of rain with soon green up the brown grass.

Just had a text from K18 with a request for my Mexican Potato Casserole (see 'recipes' in labels section in right hand margin) for Saturday night's dinner when she is home this coming weekend. B15 and K18 are counting the sleeps until they see each other. So cute.

Have a good one,

  1. Naughty, chocolate chips. That looks like a nice, simple recipe. I went for my walk later this morning, so stayed dry, but still very windy. I remember when I was in the air force, I always used to ring home with special requests for dinner when I came home for the weekend.
    take care
