Oh, the food in Sydney!

Saturday, we had a very leisurely day.

A late lunch at The Sydney Cove Oyster Bar...

Wonderful oysters kilpatrick...

My Thai Prawn Salad - bean sprouts, Asian herbs, pineapple, chilli, nam jim dressing

Seared sea scallops - pork belly, salted caramel pear puree, shemiji mushrooms, Madeira jus

Baked creme caramel - house-made brownie, salted caramel sauce

~

In the afternoon we did a bit of shopping, mainly shoes and clothes for Gus. I love the makeup counters!

For dinner, Gus had booked a restaurant down at Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont - Flying Fish

We shared two entrees and one main so what you see on the plate is half of what you would get normally.

Prawn Dumpling - peking duck consommé, yuzu, summer leaves, prawn crackers

WA Marron - brown butter emulsion & tamarind emulsion, charred lettuce, aged balsamic - hard to photograph on the black plate - I would have preferred no flash!

The main - Blue Eye Trevalla - white curry, mango yoghurt, leaf mallum - the most delicious fish curry we have eaten!

Summer peaches and quandongs - nougat panna cotta, sunflower shoots, buckwheat ice cream

Petit fours to go with my long black. A magnificent finish to a beautiful meal!

Sunday - back to reality - flying off home!

Cheers - Joolz xx
