Mulberry jam ...

I had an offer to raid someone's mulberry tree yesterday, so I took up that offer!

It was laden with fruit ready for picking and lots more to come!

It is a messy business!

I made 1.5 kgs into jam and saved some of the best berries to have for dessert tonight.

I was given this Chambord Black Raspberry liqueur for Christmas...so I've sloshed a bit onto the mulberries. We'll have them with some homemade ice cream I also made.

We have visitors for dinner so I need to get cracking on a couple of salads...

We are very lucky as Gus is bringing home 2 crayfish for us to have with these salads!

I'd better get a wriggle on as I need to make a loaf of bread too!

Cheers - Joolz xx

  1. Oh, Joolz, those photos are as delicious as the berries must have been! They make me want to just lie under that tree and stare at the sunshine through the leaves.

  2. You may have got pecked to death by chickens, lying under that tree! I nearly committed larceny as they were so cute, I wanted to pack them up and take them home! They were chook chook chook book book booking all the time I was wandering around the tree.

  4. Oh yum, yum.
They are a very messy business, but worth it. My youngest loves Mulberries and always ends up a mess when we go picking.

I haven't had any crayfish this season yet you lucky thing!

  6. Planting a few mulberry trees is at the top of my wish list for this year - along with other fruit trees! My mulberry tree in Australia was just starting to bear heavily when I left, and it about broke my heart to leave it!!
