Anzac weekend...

Our new fireplace hasn't been finished so we couldn't light a fire in it yet ...

Good news for a girlfriend of mine - she received a bad result on her breast screen exam and had to go to Adelaide for further tests.  Luckily, it turned out to be some cysts but no cancer. I sent her off with some choc chip cookies and a banana bread.  I'm so pleased and relieved for her. She and husband are about to go overseas for 6 weeks so it was the last thing she needed!

Friday night we had both our babies home (and Kirby's boyf) so I threw a beef curry together, plus a kachumber salad...

I was gifted some rhubarb...
...granny smith apples and a dozen eggs from staff at work...
~
I made a delicious apple and rhubarb crumble for dessert.

Saturday morning I was up at sparrows, baking a batch of Anzac biscuits...

Sunday morning I made these Brookies - they're brownies, but cookies!

This morning Kirby and Nate went to the dawn service for Anzac Day. They said it was quite a big turnout which is good. I woke up with a sore throat so I didn't go.

April 24th was my big sister's 45th wedding anniversary. I was her little flower girl, aged 6.  Happy Anniversary, Marilyn and Brentley!

Today, our visitors headed back to Adelaide, including Gus as he has a car to deliver and a meeting on Wednesday.
I am enjoying the quiet and plan to have Chow Mein for dinner then an early night!
Cheers - Joolz xx

  2. Happy birthday to your mum, Joolz. Love the wedding photo. The dresses brought back memories :-) I was in my early twenties then.
