An early Christmas get together...

We celebrated Christmas early with Gus's side of the family on Sunday...
~
We planned to have it outside but the weather was so changeable, we decided to set up inside.
~
The cousins had a great time during the day, playing quoits, boules (petanque), basketball and backyard  cricket...
~
~
Then it was time for lunch....
~
We had potato salad...
~
~
This was a new salad I made - very yummy!

1 can of three bean mix
 1 can of corn
1/2 red capsicum
2 stalks of celery
3 spring onions
finely chopped parsley
3/4 cups uncooked pasta - cook as normal
Dressing is 1/4 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup olive oil 1 tsp curry powder.
Make day before for flavors to develop.

A rice salad by my sister-in-law - browm rice with corn, bacon, cherry tomatoes, celery, snow peas, mushrooms. Not sure of the dressing...
~
Gus cooked some yummy coconut prawns and chilli chicken...
~
Family banter around the table...
~
Brianna made an epic pavlova (as usual) which was delicious...
I made a big trifle...and I bought a small pudding which we also had. Food overload!
~
We spent the rest of the afternoon outside then ordered pizzas for dinner (no one seemed to want to go home)!
~
All in all a lovely family day.
Do you do two or three Christmas Day's to catch up with family?
~
We will be having lunch with my family on CD then heading to Adelaide to be with Bri for dinner.
Cheers - Joolz xx

  2. I have just pinned a couple of those salads so I don't forget them, Joolz. They look yummy. Have a wonderful Christmas and I hope there are no heatwaves on the horizon for you down there.

    1. Glad you're going to try the salads, they were yummy. Oh, Chell - we are forcast for over 30C which is not ideal. Hopefully, because we are near the coast, it will be slightly cooler! Fingers crossed!
