A mixed up week...

The week started off okay and Steptember began on Wednesday.  Unfortunately, my 85 year old Mum became ill on Wednesday and was taken to hospital. A dose of gastroenteritis had gone through her nursing home and Mum got it on Monday. By Wednesday, she still wasn't feeling any better and she had a few black out type turns. They had her taken to hospital by ambulance and her heart rate was all over the place. Up to 200 beats per minute then down to 50. Things were very hairy there on Wednesday and Thursday as they battled to calm her heart rate down but she seemed a bit better on Friday. We visited her yesterday and she had all the monitors off and looked much better.  As she has Alzheimer's disease, she is very confused and scared because she doesn't know what's wrong with her. I expect her to go back to the aged care home tomorrow but we are not sure how her heart will go.

I haven't been hitting my 10,000 steps because of the hospital visits but should get back into it this week.

My dear old Mum, looking a bit better....

Our girls came home from the city to see their Nana so we had a pizza night. My sister Maz and her hubby stayed too...

Gus lit his fire pit so we sat around that, chewing the fat!
~
Potato, garlic, rosemary, bocconcini cheese, parmesan, caramelised onion...
~
Satay sauce, prawn, snow peas, bocconcini, pizza cheese...
~
~
Barbecue sauce, bacon, salami, olives, onion, cheeses...
~
oh, yum!
~
This morning there was no bread so I knocked up a loaf...
~
The girls head home again this afternoon (boo!) but it was lovely that they made the flying visit to see Nana B and a bonus that they got to be with Gus for Fathers's Day!

Isn't the print they had made for him great?
Happy Father's Day!

Cheers - Joolz xx
