Tummy fillers...

My huz doesn't like cauliflower (or broccoli, cabbage, parsnip or brussells sprouts)...
~
Don't tell him...but I smuggled half a cauli into the mashed potatoes ...
~
...that I topped the Shephed's Pie with.  He couldn't tell!
~
last night I made Jamie Oliver's Squash & Spinach Rotolo ...
~
It's a veggo dish but I added mushrooms and finely sliced chicken breast as we are meatlovers!
~
As always we had a side salad with it.

I made this once before and it was just as good this time around.

  1. Your cooking looks delicious. I really love cauliflower and I think it tastes great in mashed potatoes. I'm actually reading through my Jamie Oliver cookbook over the last couple of days to hopefully reignite my cooking inspiration. He has some great recipes.

  3. My husband also hates cauliflower. I've seen a recipes for fried rice using cauliflower instead of rice. You just blitz the raw cauliflower in the food processer and add the ingredients you want to put in and heat it up. I've also made the chocolate cake using kidney beans, while they were out and they all tucked into it. Its a beautiful and moist cake. When it was finished I told them it was kidney beans instead of flour and they just about gagged and now won't eat a chocolate cake unless they have seen me do it.

  4. Oh yummy, your food looks wonderful. I had a good laugh about the cauliflower in the mashed potato, good one. For dinner I made cauliflower with cheese sauce, red potato wedges with the skins on tossed in olive oil, garlic salt and paprika and I made vege fritters from finely grated carrot, zucchini, onion, breadcrumbs, an egg, salt, pepper and tarragon. We sometimes have a vegetarian meal, tonight I couldn't think what to have so made up the fritter recipe. The family liked it so that was the main thing.
