A cold snap ...

After the heat of the weekend, yesterday was a cool 24C - almost chilly! I am really over barbrcued foods so I thought a nice little casserole was in order.

Oh, it was delicious - chickem, mushroom and leek...
I also had some near dead bananas so I whipped up a batch of banana & dried blueberry miffins...

Sunday I made Country Boy Sultana, Oats and Choc chip biscuits but oops, forgot the sultanas! No matter, they are still delicious.

Sunday afternoon, while sitting surfing the interwebs, I cooled off with a nice Vodka, brown lime & soda. Very refreshing.

Oh, this was a Thai beef salad I made last week - absolutely delicious!

Found this on facebook this morning - what a cutie!
... and I couldn't resist this little chap either! Sprinkle some kindness today!
Cheers - Joolz xx

  3. Ha, ha. I had to laugh at your comment about barbeques at this stage of summer as it's exactly the same here. BBQ season in Sweden kicks off as soon as the days are getting a bit warmer and longer. By the time we hit midsummer, you can’t walk anywhere around dinner time without being surrounded by the smell of charcoal, lighting fluid, smoke, barbequed meat and marinades. EVERYONE barbeques.

The first ten times you dig into this plate of traditional summer food, it’s like heaven. You aaah and mmm throughout the whole meal and it always ends with comments like “Why don’t we do this more often?”. Come July, the barbeque meals are not that exciting anymore, but hey, it’s summer and summertime means barbeque time! Once again we light our grills, buy another exciting jar of marinade and eat with a little less aaah but still a bit of mmm.

Come August, the barbeque smells are a lot less frequent. The comments around the dinner table are more subdued and the flyer from the take away pizza places are looking more tempting by the hour! It happens every year - we never learn :-)

I love that last picture! And mine's a gin and tonic....

    1. I found this great little product called muffin wraps by Multix - I'm not clever enough to make them myself. Look for them next to the patty pans in Woolies or IGA. They make muffins look 'cafe' quality!
