Another catch up...

Firstly, a few web pics that have taken my fancy - they pop up on facebook...

Such a sweet kitty!

Love this picture - Marie had it on her blog but it is from Pinterest...

I was watching Everyday Gourmet with Justine Schofield today and they made this risoni dish. I am not real fond of 'lots of mushrooms' but I know Kirby and Brianna would tackle this. The recipe is here.

I love this sign - if I ever see it in a shop I will buy it!

Roast chicken from a few weeks back now...

I bought Bri a 'onsey' - too funny!

I made scones at their unit - they didn't have SR flour so I used plain flour and baking soda - they were just okay.

Two of my sisters have birthdays a couple of weeks apart. This year I gave them a copy of Down to Earth, wrapped in a tea towel (more useful that paper, I thought!).

While in Adelaide, I also visited a Posture Podiatrist to see if he could sort out my aches and pains. I have had a sore, twingy hip/lower right back for months now. A massage therapist had told me that my left foot is causing my right hip/back pain and the podiatrist confirmed that. My left foot is not hitting the floor correctly when I walk and has very limited movement compared to my right foot which can be rotated, bent and twisted every which way without pain or resistance. I overcompensate on my right side when walking which twists my hip and back, causing the muscles to tighten on that side.
~
He did some 'dry needling' on me to promote better blood flow in my leg muscles which are also very tight. I have ham string stretches to do, a foot pull/push stretch and I must roll a tennis ball under my foot whenever possible while sitting. This will stretch the muscles in my foot which are very tight.
~
When I returned for my second visit last Wednesday, he was pleased with the progress in my left foot - much more movement and rotation. I just need to keep up with the excercises and get walking to free up my leg muscles.

Okay, so now we are up to date. We've just had a great 4 days with our Italian friends from Turin. In the next post, I will show you what we got up to!

  1. I am a great fan of dry needling. I also saw a reflexologist during the week and it was pure heaven. I can't make scones if my life depends on it. Even though I am not a fan of pack mixes I was told about Laucke CWA scone mix. It is perfect and wen over a treat. Louise
