A morning stroll...

6.15am Moon over the neighbours house ... the sky was so pretty I ran back and got my camera...
~
This is our local swimming lake (man made)... there were a few ladies in swimming - I call them the Icebergs!
~
Another shot of the grounds at the lake. Entry is free to this chlorinated pool. It is a very popular spot in summer.
~
Walking, walking, walking...
~
This is a little bushy track...
~
Someone was getting impatient with me stopping and taking photos...
~
This is the parklands as you come into town, always beautifully watered and mown lawns...
~
This is the main roundabout in our town...
~
This is our Traffic School - the local Apex Club originally built it in the late 60's/early 70's. I learned my road rules here, riding around on a big tricycle. It has operating traffic lights and a railway crossing with flashing lights. It was always fun to go there and ride around, using hand signals and giving way to other cyclists. It is still in use today, run by volunteers and it's a popular place for birthday parties.
~
Another view of the roundabout, looking towards our main street.
~
Our 'Mega Playground' - people come from far and wide to bring their children to play on it.
~
It is pretty cool!
~
Little birds on a wire...
~
Back past the primary school that I went to from 1970-1977 - it's bigger now but the buildings are still the same. It was opened in 1968 so it was new when I was there. They have shade covering the playgrounds and there are covered walkways - no shade when I was there.
~
Now we are officially late getting back home (because of my stopping and starting) so he goes on ahead...
~
This is a wooded area that the local Rotary Club have cleared and are developing as parkland ...
~
Is that the fattest magpie you have ever seen?
~
When they cleared a lot of the scrub and undergrowth, a lot of the bigger trees were dead so they cut back the dead bits and left ghostly skeletons...
~
~
This one had interesting marks on the bark, from insects I imagine...
~
The Rotary Club is doing a great job keeping the grass mown down. When we get rain, it will green up nicely.
~
~
Yellow banksia...
~
~
Sheoak (Casuarina)
~
... is it me, or does this tree resemble an opera singer, arms outstretched...
~
Walking under the gum trees...
~
The Rotary club have built a nice rotunda with picnic seating...
~
... nearly out the other side...
~
Callistemon...
~
Back on the road to home - it's garbage collection day...(lucky we put ours out last night, we could hear the trucks collecting as we got nearer ...
~
Home for a healthy juice to start the day.

Cheers - Joolz
