Finally getting organised...

I made these Cheats Mini Christmas Puddings and some other yummy stuff on the weekend. These were so easy - they are from The Organised Housewife ...
~
I made Florentines which are easy too...
~
I made Shortbread, dusted with caster sugar and you can also see a batch of Cherry shortbreads too. All wrapped up ready to gift to friends and family.

Not too many sleeps now. I think we are pretty organised for our family lunch on Christmas Day. We have a boned out, stuffed 4kg turkey and half a leg of ham which we will glaze and bake (Cranberry, Dijon mustard and Balsamic Vinegar). I have given each family a food task to bring so it should all come together on the day - roast pork, chickens, more turkey, vegetable bakes etc. We have never starved before so I am sure this year will be no different.
~
Have I told you how lucky I feel to have my family all together at Christmas. It is really cool because we have my Mum, 4 sisters, brothers-in-law, neices & nephews (aged 18 to 37 years old), great-neices and nephews (aged 2-10 years old) and 2 babies waiting to be born in the New Year! There will be a crowd of us and the weather is expected to be about 32C - I just hope it isn't humid.

Brianna got her school results yesterday and while a little disappointed, she got a good result and this will get her into Nursing next year with no problems. We went shopping yesterday afternoon and I think we are all done now so I can tick that off my list too!

My garden is looking quite good out the back, considering the neglect it has had over the past few months. Amazing what a good weeding and trimming back can do. I have planted some 'pots of colour' petunias in the bare spots (probs should have done that a month ago) but they will fill out. The pergola will get a hosing out tonight, we have de-cobwebbed and the windows just need a quick clean then we are set! Kirby comes home on Friday - she is excited to catch up with all the family. Phew, can't wait for Sunday now!

  1. It sounds like you are ready to go! I'm not quite so organised here, but am happy with that. We just have us for Christmas so it's nowhere near the task you have! Congrats to Brianna. High school is so great when it's over, gosh doesn't time fly! Merry Christmas!!!

  2. What wonderful goodies to share! You sound so very organized.

We are pretty ready, too. Tomorrow I will set up a production line in the dining room to wrap presents. That's always fun.
