Christmas baking...

I made up this "Cookies in a Jar" mix in about 5 minutes and even printed off the label and recipe too. This would make a great 'teacher' present for kids to give their favourite teacher.
The recipe is from Taste.com here. I have several 200gm Moccona coffee jars and they are the ideal size and have a glass stopper lid which seals really well.
~
Kirby has a few Kris Kringle gifts to give so I made some Cherry Shortbreads (adding green cherry for the holly leaves)...
~
and Candy Cane Choc Cookies from The Pioneer Woman - how good do they look?
~
Crunchy chocolate biscuits, white chocolate and crushed candy canes. Very easy and so effective.
~
These are all bagged up to go to Adelaide tomorrow for her. I am sure they will be enjoyed.

  2. Yum, I'm seeing Christmas baking everywhere this morning, what did you use to flatten your biscuits? I'm looking at the pattern and can't figure it out.

  3. The jars of mixes are a great idea aren't they? I made 'brownie bars in a jar' for friends a few years ago and they were very well received. Last year I did muesli but I'm thinking of actually baking something this year for people! If I run out of time I have a great recipe for a chai tea mix I found at a blog that I may do for a few friends. Those candy cane cookies look great too - I'm sure they are going to be enjoyed!

  7. They all look fantastic Jools. The cookie mix in a jar is a great idea, especially if you don't have the time to cook them yourself. I love the look of the cherry shortbread, I will definately be making those for christmas. Hugs.
