Flooding rains...

I love a sunburnt country,
a land of sweeping plains,
of ragged mountain ranges,
of droughts and flooding rains.
I lover her far horizons,
I love her jewel sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!

My heart is breaking for the people of Queensland this morning after a day of death and distruction in the Toowoomba region and other regions yesterday. There is more to come and I feel so helpless watching this wall of water destroy peoples lives.

Here is a link to the ABC for some pictures of this tragedy.

  1. It is so heartbreaking and I feel helpless as we sit down here and watch the destruction. Mother Nature can be so cruel!

  3. It brings back memories of watching Victoria being devastated by the bushfires. Our hearts go out to everyone affected, whether directly, or indirectly in the form of friends and family who may be many hours away, watching in horror.

Hope Bri is feeling a little better.

  6. The raining won't stop, the flooding won't stop & I can't stop worrying about Mandy as I know she lives in the path of what is now been called the inland tsunami.

  8. Here in England we can't even bgin to imagine the huge scale of the devastation, the massive area affected. But it's not the THINGS so much is it, it's the people, and I pray for everyone whose lives this has touched in any way.
