Remembrance Day...

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, 1918 hostilities of World War 1 were formally ended with the German signing of the Armistice. It became known as Remembrance Day. A day to honour the fallen and those still serving our countries at war.

"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
(taken from the poem "For the fallen" by Laurence Binyon)
