Stay inside Sunday...

I started this little project today - it's a little Kokeshi Doll stuffy. I found the free pattern at MellyandMe. I bought the oriental fabric for the reverse side of her - I hope she turns out as cute as the pattern pictures.

I took this picture on our way to Adelaide last time we went. I just had to pull up and take the shot. We were just outside Kingston, SE.
*
When KP and I walk each morning, we go past some industrial sheds and this little fellow is always there, just hanging around in the puddles. He is made of tin.
*
This is small drain that is filled to the brim at the moment.
*
This drain winds it's way through our town and is absolutely brimming. I haven't seen the drain so full in many, many years.
*
This is a crop of beans (I think) and it is well and truly water logged.
This is the view from Mayura Homestead, looking out across the flats.
*
Another view of the bean crop with water lying in pools in the distance.
There is no chance of a dust storm in our area!

Having a quiet Sunday after the party last night (I didn't wake up with a sore head). Up at 8am, I watched Nights in Rodanthe (love Richard Gere and Diana Lane). Did some laundry, folding and ironing and I made some scones just as the girls woke up. Made a big glass of orange, apple, strawberry and banana juice (I learnt that you can't juice a banana - it all ends up in the pulp holder. Lol!) Sat stitching with the girls, watching Grease 2 (Michelle Pfeiffer & Maxwell Caulfied -Pffooor!). Angus is doing steaks on the Weber with anchovy butter and lemony potatoes. Bliss!

  3. Oh I want to see that movie.

What an incredible sky picture and wow! What an enormous amount of rain. I'm betting you seriously needed it so that's a huge blessing. And your doll is going to be darling!! What a cute idea. :)

  4. Weird, I just downloaded that pattern yesterday, I thought she might make a good Christmas present. I'm suffering from SBS (Slack Blogger Syndrome) so haven't been posting or reading much lately.

  5. Maxwell Caulfield? Is he that chap who's married to Juliette Mills? Here in England he used to play a doctor in a weekly hospital drama (met a gruesome but heroic end) and he's currently in one of our most popular soaps, "Emmerdale", where you have to listen very carefully to hear any American coming through. His English accent is superb.

He's a bit of all right too!

    love, Angie, xx

  7. We are having LOTS of rain, too. It kept our normally-stifling summer to a cool this year, which was appreciated! But, we've had many rainy weekends. Love your doll project! C

  8. BRRRR it looks cold where you are! It is still in the 90's here although the evenings are cooling down to enjoy our bike rides and walks! It is my lunch time now and I am reading your blog getting very hungry! I am sure that whatever I have to eat today will NOT be as yummy! So I guess I will go SHOPPING instead! hehehe
